Android OS, a major player in the Smartphone Market, is surely power packed with features.
The latest release ANDROID
MARSHMALLOW (6.0 and above) does come with exciting features ,but one of the
biggest let-downs being the head-ache it causes while installing Apps.
I’ll be considering the Lenovo K3 Note
(K50a40, Indian edition) which received the Marshmallow update on 20th
March, 2016.
But this Tutorial works for ANY ANDROID 6.0 and above DEVICES. If the below pictures depict your situation, you’re in the right
place.
A few things to be done before we can proceed to
actual process:
-> Check your SD Card Status. In Android 6.0, you’ve the ability to
make the SD Card as a portable one OR you can merge it with EXISTING INTERNAL
STORAGE.
-> Now, merging with
internal storage causes the card to be encrypted and you CANNOT TRANSFER ANY
FILES FROM PC TO MOBILE.
-> But, making it
portable FORCES YOU TO INSTALL ALL APPS on INTERNAL STORAGE.
Make sure you
create a backup of SD Card in PC Before Proceeding.
-> I’ll be considering this case
(i.e. Merged SD Card as the internal storages in phones are quite low.)
If your phone has a merged SD
Card then it’ll look something like below.
-> To
open the below pic: Settings -> Storage&USB

-> Uninstall the apps which aren’t running. (in my
case it was Clash of Clans , Adobe Reader, Camscanner, Telegram … and the list
goes on)
-> Now, GO TO : SETTINGS -> STORAGE &
USB -> [CLICK YOUR SD CARD] -> [CLICK MORE, OR THE OPTIONS BUTTON BESIDE
HOME BUTTON] -> PRESS EJECT.
-> Wait for some time until SD Card ejects .
Now, Go to Playstore , download and install the
app again.
-> Open the app and VIOLA! It works without a
hassle!.
-> Now, go back to SETTINGS -> STORAGE & USB and
do the below to remount it.
-> You can now go to Internal Storage and move the
apps and it’ll still work as before!.
