"Ah! this screen isn't FULL HD, the touch sensitivity isn't great! Is this what I wasted so much money on??" is what you might have thought cursing your phone which you protect dearly more than your dear life !
Well, you must have also felt that the phones need to be more rigid, more portable and theft proof and yet the same time ,retain the impeccable specs. So you have landed in the proper place! (?)

A group of four just thought on the same lines and their aim was to "Delete Screens Off your life."
This project, called the "CICRET" is a band worn around your hand which lets to handle your skin as a touchscreen smartphone! Amazing right?

The Bracelet is still a PROTOTYPE and is still undergoing the funding cycles. This type of Bracelet will also give a tough competition to the Smartwatch market. Cicret has nearly no dependency on the mobile it gets paired with.

The Circet uses a Pico projector to throw your mobile's screen into your arm. It also features eight proximity sensors which the bracelet uses to detect your finger position so as to feedback controls. This means you can use your phone as you would normally, but all right there on your arm while the device itself sits in your pocket or bag.

Unlike other wearables this could offer the most comprehensive use of your phone without taking it out.
Circet features its own processor, storage, vibration feedback, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as the sensors and projector. We have to wonder how long the battery on a device like this will actually last though.

The campaign for the bracelet finished on Indiegogo where it was going for $400, now for $250 for donors. The campaign has now gone from the site along with the video where it says the company is "actually modifying a few things… so [will] be back soon."

Winding up, yes this might look like a good project, although many people have voiced against, stating that the team hasn't delivered for the past 2 years. The team's video on the prototype seems to have resolved the doubts.

While Google still working on its modular phone "Project Ara", the PuzzlePhone is also gaining a fair share of attention. In a modular phone, you can easily upgrade or repair by replacing or swapping out parts. But there's no standard yet, and every company is having its own take on modular phones. The PuzzlePhone by Circular Devices Ltd. is an interesting take on modular phones and features three easy to change modules: Brain, Spine and Heart.

As the word suggests, the Brain contains the main electronics: processor(CPU), RAM, modem, graphics processor(GPU), storage capacity and camera. The Spine includes the display and associated electronics. The Heart contains the battery and other electronics.

The creators are running a campaign to develop a working prototype. The PuzzlePhone includes  a 5-inch display with a 1080 resolution (1920 x 1080). The phone will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core ARM processor with 3GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. The rear camera will be a 12 megapixel camera with flash, while the front-facing camera is 5 megapixels. It also includes a 2800mAh battery, NFC and a USB 2.0/3.0 Type-C. The phone will run the latest Android OS at the time of the launch.

The company Circular Devices Ltd. is hoping to raise $250,000 to cover the production costs of the PuzzlePhone. The European Union is covering majority of the R&D costs. The company promises that it will continue to produce the phone with private funding even if the campaign fails.

On its campaign, Circular Devices has featured 3 levels: Very Early Bird First Edition which is limited to 250 backers and costs $333 and will be shipped by September 2016, Early Bird which is limited to 500 backers and costs $444 and will be shipped by October 2016, and the Limited Edition which is limited to 259 backers and costs $777 and will be shipped by September of this year.

Lots of aspects of modular phone is still in its infancy and various companies are producing their models like the Project Ara, Fairphone2 and the Puzzlephone to create their own niche in this competitive and growing industry.

The iPad pro was just released last month with Apple coming back to the stylus genre. Microsoft, which has been stagnating in the smartphone market has finally come up with a killer! It clearly aims to cut out a huge chunk from the Laptop Market.

During the launch of the iPad Pro we said how we would have preferred the iPad Pro to have run Mac OS. And for good reason. If you create a tablet meant for work, then it must be able to replace the predominant laptops, not to get a smart phone OS on an enlarged
screen
With the Specification Sheet Microsoft has just released, this Surface Pro 4 has just packed everything in the right space and has not left any room for competition!
Before diving into finer details lets have a quick look at the specifications sheet:

  • Processor: Intel 6th-gen processor (Core M3, i5 or i7)
  • Graphics: Intel HD graphics 515 (M3), Intel HD graphics 520 (i5) and Intel Iris (i7) graphic cards
  • Stylus: Microsoft Pen with custom Touch G5 chipset by Microsoft. Surface Pen stylus (five colors and interchangeable pen tips, more like apple?)
  • Dimensions: 7.93 x 11.5 x 0.33 inches (201.4 x 292.1 x 8.4 mm, yes huge but manageable not like the Apple "SLATE")
  • Weight: Between 766 and 786g (depending on processor)
  • Display: 12.3-inch PixelSense display with 2736 x 1824 resolution. 3:2 aspect ratio with 267 ppi and Gorilla Glass 4 screen. The resolution is good but, the exact results from camera have yet to be seen.
  • RAM: Choice of 4/8/16 GB
  • Storage: Choice of 128/256/512GB/1TB SSD (One Drive yet to be stated.)
  • Networking: Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE support. Supports LTE and that's great for Indian Market!
  • Supports microSD card
  • USB 3.0 and Mini DisplayPort connectivity
  • Camera: 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera, both supporting 1080p HD recording. lol Front camera, "lets take a selfie! " But as its primarily a larger tab-computer hybrid, so I didn't expect a high end camera.
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Battery: Up to 9 hours of video playback. Could have been way better. But practical hours of usage yet to come.
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
  • Surface Pro 4 docking stations (four USB 3.0, two 4K DisplayPort and Ethernet ports)
  • Surface Pro Type Cover (individual buy)

AND FINALLY TO THE PRICE :
Well the Surface series haven't had much success in the Indian Market owing to the high price ( over Rs 1.5 lakhs)
So we can expect the price of this to start at about Rs 2 lakh.

But the most Interesting part?
There’s also a new Surface pen with a new touch controller chip that refines the input when you’re writing or drawing. The battery inside the pen lasts a full year—a metaphorical nod to liquid ink inside an old-school pen, the company says. Fortunately, the Surface pen draws from its analog in other ways as well. Using it on the Surface Pro 4 feels like you’re actually writing with ink on paper. The eraser—which Microsoft pointedly noted Apple’s Pencil stylus lacks altogether—feels similarly lifelike.
The pen has a few other satisfying surprises as well. The magnetic locking to the Surface Pro 4 is stronger than expected, helping minimize the odds that you’ll misplace it. You can also hold down the the cap to summon Cortana, Microsoft’s digital personal assistant, a trick that worked as advertised when we were able to try it in person.

There are days when you might be waving your pen to and fro creating imaginary drawings in air and there are times too when you might feel that there must be a compact pen which will create a model as you keep moving you pen.

Yes, there are solutions this time, possible with 3D Printing, but that's just too hectic. 3D printing requires you to generate a drwaing in the computer, put the right material in the printer and finally wait for it to process and give the object you required only for you to realise that a small part was missed and it might take ages to print another!

Well, behold no more because 3Dsimo Mini is focused upon delivering that dream of yours, with many more goodies!

It is the very first multi material 3D Pen in the world. Although being the smaller version of the 3D simo released in 2013, this pen is a beast when it comes to functionality.

3D Drawing:

Create jewelry, figures, accessories, decorations, artworks and much more. You can even fix any plastic items. As in classic 3D printer technology, molten plastic is extruded from the die and cools down rapidly. It is therefore possible to draw solid structures in the air. There are no material limitations due to adjustable temperature and speed

Burning:

Become an acclaimed artist. Express your creativity and start to change things around. Turn an old belt, pair of shoes, or jacket into unique fashion piece with your personal touch. Transform it into a unique fashion accessory. You may even start an online shop with custom-made accessories! This extension can also be used for the treatment of 3D printed models and their smoothing, making your creations truly flawless.
Soldering:

For the engineer within youYou no longer need to buy an expensive adjustable soldering station. 3DSimo mini handles this function, heating up the tip under 10 seconds to an incredible 490°C, while still being safe to handle. Now you yourself can repair a torn USB cable, damaged earphones, or start creating your own electrical equipment.

Cutting Foam Function:

Shape out anything you want. With this extension, your imagination becomes the limit. Intended primarily for designers, modelers and architects, you can now create functional RC models (aircraft, boats, cars), buildingsart objects and so much more. If you own a 3D printer, you know how difficult it is to remove the support, and 3DSimo mini will help you with this as well. Create them from polystyrene, plexiglas, balsa wood or foam.

The list of materials which are compatible with it look endless!
Well, thats all guys for now. For a better illustration make sure to watch this video from the 3DSimo guys themselves. And, also make sure to support them on kickstarter: https://goo.gl/lb8ISa

Standing for long duration of time has proved to have harmful effects on our body and today's world of Information Technology, most people spend most of their sitting in front of computers and thus leading a less physically active lifestyle. According to Harvard Medical School, sitting at a desk or workstation for hours on end can lead to back issues, increased blood pressure, diabetes and even cancer. Even regular exercise cannot offset the negative effects of sitting for 8-12 hours a day while our work demands us to sit 8-12 hours a day in front of the computer.

Uprite Ergo has the perfect solution to this problem: a Sit2Stand adjustable workstation. While height adjustable workstations have been available for years, Sit2Stand increased the bar in performance, reliability and affordability. Most adjustable workstations cost upward of $2,000 and take up a majority of available desk space and often need to be clamped on, positioning it in an unusable or awkward space. "We're excited to launch what we feel is an elegant, affordable solution to sitting all day," Uprite Ergo founder John Mosher said. "The stylish, easy-to-use Sit2Stand Workstation can help transform a sedentary office routine into one that includes more healthful standing."

UpriteErgo Sit2Satnd has a neat design offering a sit/stand  solution occupying small desktop foot-print. An adjustable column with a locking lever makes it easy to adjust and safe for your computer. With a sleek and attractive design, it is made up of durable anodized aluminum and scratch resistant phenolic board work surfaces. It comes in 3 versions: a standard version for most standard monitors, a heavy duty version for heavy monitors and all-in-ones, and finally a dual monitor version. Its platform base allows the workstation to sit on top of existing desks. Such features make it a good affordable alternative to current adjustable workstations. UpriteErgo is seeking adopters trough their Kickstarter campaign.

The long #HYPE has come to an end. Chinese startup OnePlus has launched its second flagship OnePlus 2 crammed up with impressive specs and a cheap price tag starting from $329. OnePlus continues to use an improvised version of the invite system that was successful with the OnePlus 1. Sign Up here to get in line for your invite and OnePlus 2.

OnePlus 2 has an impressive design with a 5.5 inch 1080p display, Aluminium+Magnesium frame and feels solid. The displays also has 1500:1 contrast ratio. On the right side of the body is the volume rocker and sleep/wake key and on the left side of the body is a smart three-stage slider key. It is used for adjusting notifications. It ties in with Google's priority notifications system and will disable all notifications, or let most important ones. It makes it easier to switch between settings, otherwise you'll have to waken up the phone to do this.

The new feature on the OnePlus 2 is the fingerprint scanner placed in the home button beneath the screen. The home button is more like a touchpad and not a physical button, which is quite amazing. Just like the iPhone, it requires multiple touches to learn your fingerprint, but it is faster than Apple's Touch ID.

The OnePlus 2 runs OnePlus's Oxygen OS which is based on Android. And looking at the hardware, it uses the Snapdragon 810 processor, which is known for its heating issues. But the OnePlus promises that the OnePlus 2 will be cooler than ever. Hopefully they have made some tweaks to reduce the heating.

OnePlus 2 is one of the first phones that will utilize the new reversible USB Type-C standard for its charging and data port. So connecting a charger is now fast and less frustrating. It also sports a 4 GB RAM and comes in 2 models with varying storage: 16GB and 64GB. The 16GB phone costs $329 and the with the 64GB phone the price shoots up to $389.

The camera of the second flagship of OnePlus is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front camera and shoots 4k videos . The camera's laser autofocus system locks in a touch-free and precise focus in under 0.2 seconds. Also the Optical Image Stabilization automatically corrects for unwanted shakes and bumps.

The OnePlus offers a variety of style swaps including bamboo, rosewood, Apricot wood, Kevlar and Sandstone. As I mentioned at the beginning, OnePlus sticks to its invite system which is somewhat annoying but the improvised system looks more promising. Click Here to sign up now and get in line to get a invite and your OnePlus 2.

Ever felt like one single screen on your laptop wasn't enough. Are you always dreaming of having multiple monitors like MKBHD & Unbox Therapy, but at the same time want portability? And are you that hardcore gamer who wants just another screen to showcase his skills?

Well, looks like you're in the right place just in the right time! Belgium-based startup Sliden'Joy promises to provide for you needs with a clever solution that will go live next week. Tech retailer Media Markt (the German equivalent of Currys/PCWorld) has already backed the project.

Dual-display laptops like the GScreen, The Onkyo DX or the Kohjinsha DZ-series, have been plagued by poor performance or too many compromises. Others like the Lenovo ThinkVision USB monitor or the AOC E1659 have proven to be either too slow (since they used USB 2.0) or too big.

Great potential

Sliden'Joy allows users to add either one or two 13-inch, 15-inch or 17-inch displays to their laptops (with other display sizes coming!) for as little as 199 Euros (about 14300). The cheapest dual-monitor setup adds another 100 Euros (about 7100).
All the displays are powered by a single USB 3.0, are platform agnostic (work with PC or Mac), have a 180 degrees rotating aluminium hinge (allowing it to fold neatly) and, most importantly, are full HD.
The team behind the project promises to have several finishes, including leather and wood, based on what we can see on the company's website.
Its as simple as:

Driving around the long trailers of the semi trucks to overtake them is a quite risky job, as it leads to many head on collisions from the opposite lane. But driving behind the smelly ones for the entire journey can be tiring and a bit boring too.

The Argentinean arm of the South Korean tech giant is showing off what it calls a Safety Truck, a semi truck with a wireless camera mounted on the front, displaying the road ahead on a screen tacked on to the back of the truck. The move is a part of an effort to reduce head-on collisions from passing.

The front-mounted camera broadcasts its signal to four monitors on the back of the truck to give drivers behind the truck a good view ahead. In addition to making passing safer, Samsung says that this would let drivers see any obstacles in the road ahead, preventing the need for sudden emergency braking.

This is something that the video technology must have been used for and will take overtaking to a whole new level. In many countries, one of the prime reasons for the number of road accidents has been due to indecent overtaking. While many countries have tried to tackle it by creating ‘overtaking zones’, maybe this piece of long sought tech will solve those issues and help in reducing the number.

Samsung said the truck used for testing isn't currently operational anymore, but it is working with government and non-government safety agencies to develop the tech further.
It seems like it would work well on two-lane roads, but it wouldn't really have much use on multi-lane highways. The screen could also prove to be a distraction, and image quality issues could be a concern as well.
It's an innovative approach to road safety, but Samsung hasn't provided much of a timeline for its development, so who knows when, or even if it will be adopted.
Below is a video regarding the truck’s working prototype:

In today's world of screens, there's a lot of wonderful things that has changed our lives. But one thing that is not so spontaneous or natural is the act of writing or drawing on them. Phree lets you write, draw, annotate and express yourself in countless other ways and on virtually any surface.

Phree can connect to any of your devices like your smartphone, tablet, laptop, TV or any other device that has a Bluetooth connection. You can instantly jot down your ideas, notes, phone numbers or sketch your imaginations. It is compatible with software and apps like Office, OneNote, EverNote, Acrobat, Google Handwriting Keyboard, Viber and more.

The latency between our writing motion and the perceived ink-trace on the screen needs to be nearly instantaneous for it to feel "right". OTM Technologies have achieved this with their Optical Translation Measurement(OTM) technology that precisely tracks hand-motions on any surface. They have built a compact, low-cost optical sensor that fits at the tip. OTM sensor is a 3D laser interferometer which tracks relative motion of a nearby surface by measuring interference signal with extremely high resolution and very high accuracy.

Phree is thin and has an oval cross-section for a great user experience. The pen like device comes with an integrated screen to receive brief texts. When you get a message, just write back and send! When it is held in the writing position, the screen faces the user for easy activation. Phree also functions as a headset. You can change from pen to a highlighter, from red to blue, from messaging to dialing with just a touch.

Phree will come in Black, Silver and Gold. It weighs 30gm and is 8.5mm thick. It also comes with a case that has an embedded wireless charger. So just pop in Phree inside the case to charge it, which can be charged on a wireless charging pad. The case cap attaches magnetically to the body of the case to form a stand for any smartphone. Phree also comes with a cap to protect the tip when not in use. The rubberized cap also acts as a stylus.

All of us exercise the control over holding a pen or pencil at a young age. We can now experience that using Phree on digital screens as well.

MINI brings up its new Augmented Vision and claims to alter the way we perceive reality. It is a set of driving goggles that brings some of the features of your standard head-up display directly into the driver's field of vision.

MINI's Augmented vision goggles are just a prototype but the company plans to bring something like it to the market. Right now it uses an unfortunate looking augmented-reality glasses, and putting them on will be really uncomfortable. Once you have them on, you will have to go through a bit of calibration process matching the output with your own vision.

It also delivers information outside the car, allowing the user to mark a destination and then import it into the navigation system on the click of a button. Not just that, it will also help you spot your car if you forget where it is.

On the go, it projects virtual arrows on the road telling you where to turn, and your speed along with the speed limit is constantly displayed at the bottom of your field of view. It also highlights points of interest including open parking spaces.

The goggles take things a step further, though, with an X-ray view. Using cameras mounted on the outside of the vehicle, it allows drivers to see through certain parts of the car such as doors.

Mini's goggles fills your field of view with handy information(actually a lot) that will take some time to get used to. The cool features like seeing through the passenger door might also turn out to be a distraction to drivers bringing up the question of safety. The goggles get hot after 15 minutes and might be unwearable in a few hours. Despite the cons, it does give a picture of the potential future.

Hey Guys, so recently, in social media like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr etc and newspapers, you might have read about the word "Internet Neutrality" and articles related to it. This article will fully explain everything on this subject. The decision made my TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India)  on 24th April 2015, will affect all us i.e. the netizens.

This short video by All India Bachkod(AIB) also explains the topic:

So , lets start up by talking about Net Neutrality.

What is Net Neutrality?

Net Neutrality is the Internet’s guiding principle: It preserves our right to communicate freely online. This is the definition of an open Internet.

Net Neutrality means an Internet that enables and protects free speech. It means that Internet service providers should provide us with open networks — and should not block or discriminate against any applications or content that ride over those networks.

How does it affect us?

Net Neutrality means that all the web pages or web sites are the same, the broadband companies(like Airtel etc) cannot enforce privileges upon some webpages and force you to use that. Example: Say, net neutrality wasn't prevalent in India. Now, you are using Airtel and airtel has a tie up with Amazon but not with Flipkart. Now, if you wan't to buy a product from Flipkart, you won't be allowed to access it, or you'll have to pay a 'fee' to access it. On the other hand, you'll be forced to access Amazon, to buy your items. So, this concept helps companies to earn more money by redirecting website traffic, forcibly.

Without Net Neutrality, cable and phone companies could carve the Internet into fast and slow lanes. An ISP could slow down its competitors' content or block political opinions it disagreed with. ISPs could charge extra fees to the few content companies that could afford to pay for preferential treatment — relegating everyone else to a slower tier of service. This would destroy the open Internet.

What is the Current Scenario in India?

In India, the government agency TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) is responsible for all the decisions regarding this topic. It released a complicated 118 page document featuring 20 questions and want you to send your mail by 24th April, 2015. Companies like Airtel and Vodafone, are currently lobbying the agency, to succumb to their wants ie to abolish net neutrality. Thus, the D-Day for us netizens is 24th April 2015.

What can you do to show your Support?

Please log on to www.savetheinternet.in or www.netneutrality.in and click [Respond to TRAI Now]  and send your mail to TRAI. TRAI is waiting at least for 1 Million mails to show support to net neutrality and there's only 40000 to go, so my fellow netizen, please send your mail, before 24th April, 2015.

For those who are annoyed with very few USB ports on your laptops but have a lot of devices to plug-in, here's the ultimate solution: InfiniteUSB. This innovative design allows an unlimited number of  devices to plug into one USB port.

The basic idea behind the InfiniteUSB, whether you buy the traditional ones or the new type C ones, is that with a male and female connector and extension cable, you can daisy chain as many USB devices as you like. This will definitely prove to be helpful if you decide to buy one of the ultraportable laptops that are very slim and thus come with very few ports.

The connectors would be wisely color-coded, allowing you to distinguish between your devices. Chaining so many devices lead to possible power issues that come with connecting multiple devices to the computer. The InfiniteUSB supports 2.4A output, so you can charge 2 iPhones at full speed through a single port. The team recommends up to 5 InfiniteUSBs at one time to have good results.

Currently the InfiniteUSB is listed at a retail cost $22 for a "lucky color", and costs $24 to get a color of your choice. There is also a limited stock for just $18. Finally, we will have the days when we don't have to unplug one device to make room for another.
